Apologies for the downtime.
Long story short, one of the newsposts was bombarded by spammy comments
enough that Cutenews, the, uh, news software, couldn't handle any more
of it and just kinda kerploded. For those curious, the comments file
hit nearly 30 MB of text. As the spam was in the middle of the
comments file and the file was so big, we've
lost a whole bunch of comments to previous articles to the interether.
Looking at things now, it's going to be possible but annoying to restore comments from 2/20/2006, but nothing between then and January of this year. For the time being, old articles have been archived to make things a bit more manageable.
Those wishing for a full log of spambot entries in Cutenews archive format (viewable via any text editor) can contact me, and make sure you've got 30 MB or so free space to keep it.
