Summer. Ugh. I hate that time of year. You simply cannot escape the heat. The weather drives you crazy and it barrages you with bright sunlight. The days are far too long. The longest day of the year for us Brits has approximately 19 hours of sunlight, and it is daylight by about 04:30am. In winter, if you are too cold, just wrap up warm and toasty! You can't do that in summer; or at least not very well. Sure, you could have air conditioning or a fan on, but those things use up electricity (Lots of it), and what happens if you want to go outside or have an electricity shortage? I am also probably one of the few here who prefers torrential rain to bright sunlight. I don't want to get sunburnt, thank you very much. I also don't want to spend my life fudging around with sun lotion every hour. If it's raining, wear a jacket, or just enjoy it like I do. It's only a shower of water, for goodness sake! If it was lava or acid it would be different; but it isn't! I love getting wet and then drying off. I don't get why people think rain is a bad thing! I love it! It's one of the reasons why living in Britain is awesome, particularly in winter! I also love the darkness after I get home after a long day. I love the atmosphere of sitting on the couch, watching random music channels (Namely "Q" and Kerrang) while clutching a nice warm hot chocolate and with the lights on because it's dark outside. It's wonderful. And don't even get me started on Christmas! Bog. |
