Overview: Despite my reluctance to provide D2D walkthroughs for
Advance Wars: Dual Strike, given a small timeframe, they do exist. In this
case, I am willing to make an exception due to the sheer frustration of
dealing with Jugger this early. The general strategy revolves around a
quick strike force that is used to protect the capturing Infantry. In the
case of Kanbei and Von Bolt, abuse of the AI is needed to capture Jugger’s
HQ. Specific strategies can be found below the normal guide for the other
COs.

In a rare case, Kanbei can actually follow the build order. On the other
hand, Grit needs a bit of variation with this walkthrough to pull it off in
a reasonable amount of time. Unless you’re aiming to complete the map with
Grit, I suggest a different CO.

Day 1:

– Build Infantry in southern base.
– Build Recon in northern base.

Day 2:

– Save here. It seems to be odd saving after Day 1, but Jugger’s AI may or
may not be reckless due to his status as a luck CO. He may not follow what
happens below, but he needs follow the build order or else it jepordizes
your capture.
– Move Recon 5E and attack Jugger’s Infantry in western base.
– Move Infantry 1N 2E.
– Build Infantry in southern base.
– Build Recon in northern base.

Jugger Day 2:

– Western Infantry moves 2S and begins capturing neutral property.
– Eastern Infantry moves 2W and attacks Recon. Enemy Infantry MUST be
weakened enough to be destroyed by healthy Recon.
– Build Infantry in eastern base.

If you’re Kanbei or Von Bolt, Jugger will build a Tank in the western base
and avoid attacking your units.

Day 3:

– Move western Recon 1S 5E and destroy enemy Infantry.
– Move wounded Recon 1E and block Jugger’s western base.
– Move eastern Infantry 3E. DO NOT CAPTURE THE NEUTRAL PROPERTY.
– Move Infantry 1N 2E.
– Build Recon in northern base.
– Build Infantry in southern base.

Jugger Day 3:

– Wounded Infantry continues capturing neutral property.
– Build Tank in eastern base.

If you’re Kanbei or Von Bolt, save here and follow the guide below. It only
varies in the movement of the Recons.

– Move eastern Recon 2S and attack/destroy enemy Infantry from the west.
– Move western Recon 1S 4E and attack enemy Infantry from the west.
– Move eastern Infantry 3E. DO NOT CAPTURE THE NEUTRAL PROPERTY.
– Move Infantry 1N 2E.
– Build Recon in northern base.
– Build Infantry in southern base.

Here, Jugger may do one of two actions. The walkthrough differs on Day 4 to
account for this difference. In addition, Kanbei and Von Bolt have
different walkthroughs.

Scenario 1:

– Infantry moves 1W and attacks Recon. Infantry must be weakened enough to
be destroyed by a healthy Recon.

Scenario 2:

– Infantry attacks Recon from the HQ. Infantry must be weakened enough to be
destroyed by a healthy Recon.

Scenario 1 Day 4:

– Move wounded Recon 1S 2E.
– Move western Recon 5E and destroy enemy Infantry.
– Move Recon 1N 1E.
– Move easternmost Infantry 1N 2E.
– Move eastern Infantry 3E.
– Move Infantry 1N 2E.
– Build Recon in northern base.
– Build Infantry in southern base.

Scenario 2 Day 4:

– Move southern Recon 1N 1E and destroy enemy Infantry from the north.
– Move wounded Recon 1S 2E.
– Move Recon 5E.
– Move easternmost Infantry 1N 2E.
– Move eastern Infantry 3E.
– Move Infantry 1N 2E.
– Build Recon in northern base.
– Build Infantry in southern base.

Jugger Day 4:

NOTE: Jugger can perform two actions here. It doesn’t matter though.

– Wounded Infantry continues to capture or finishes capturing neutral city.
– Tank attacks/destroys Recon to the west.

OR

– Tank moves 1E 1S and attacks/destroys Recon.
– Builds Tank on eastern base.

Kanbei/Von Bolt Day 4:

– Move easternmost Infantry 1N 2E or 3E, destroying enemy Infantry on HQ if
necessary.
– Arrange Recons in such a way that the easternmost Infantry is surrounded,
but allows the enemy Tanks access to the west.
– Move eastern Infantry 2E and BEGIN CAPTURING NEUTRAL BASE.
– Move Infantry 1N 2E.
– Build Recon in northern base.
– Build Infantry in southern base.

Jugger Day 4:

– Jugger MUST attack capturing Infantry with both Tanks.
– Nothing else matters.

Day 5:

– Begin capturing Jugger’s HQ with Infantry.
– Join northern Recon with wounded Recon 1E of Jugger’s HQ.
– Move Recon 1E.
– Move Recon 1S 6E and attack/destroy enemy Infantry.
– If enemy Infantry survives, destroy it with Infantry from the east. If
destroyed, then begin capturing if it’s still neutral, else capture any
neutral CITY.
– Move eastern Infantry 2E and begin capturing neutral base.
– Move Infantry 1W and begin capturing neutral base.
– Build Infantry in northern base.
– Build Artillery in southern base.

Kanbei/Von Bolt Day 5:

– Begin capturing Jugger’s HQ with Infantry.
– Surround capturing Infantry with all possible units.
– Begin capturing any neutral properties with remaining infantry. They will
distract the Tanks.
– Build Infantry in both bases.

Day 6:

– Finish capturing Jugger’s HQ.

At this point, you’re going to have to secure those southern missiles ASAP
since Lash has a head start. Send your surviving Recons south, as well as
many Infantry as you can spare. Try to block access to any missile silos
Lash can access.

On the eastern front, you’re going to have to build a wall until you can
secure enough units to destroy enough units for the power score. Soften
Lash’s units up with the missile silos. Fire no more than two missile silos
per day.

The sooner you can secure the southern properties and missile silos, the
faster you can complete this map. Be aware of Koal’s powers, as they can
suddenly block your advance. In addition, don’t try to make your move
during Lash’s SCOP obviously.
