WR2-05: Pivot Isle

Days: 11+

General Strategy: Secure southern island as soon as possible, securing funds for a strong push into Eagle’s territory. COs with a reduced direct offense will have to deal with surviving units by forcing Eagle to join wounded units together.

Day 1:

– Build Infantry in the northeastern and southwestern base.
– Build an APC in the southeastern base.

Day 2:

– Load northern Infantry into APC and move APC 1W 5S and drop Infantry S.
– Move remaining Infantry 1E 2S.
– Build Infantry in the northeastern and southwestern base.
– Build an APC in the southeastern base.

Day 3:

– Move southern Infantry 3S and begin capturing neutral base.
– Move northern Infantry into APC and move APC 3S and drop Infantry E.
– Load northern Infantry into APC and move APC 1W 5S and drop Infantry S.
– Move remaining Infantry 1E 2S.
– Build Anti-Air in any southern base.

Day 4:

– Finish capturing neutral base. This base will now be referred to as the S base.
– Move southern Infantry 2S 1E and begin capturing neutral airport.
– Move southern Infantry 1S 2E and begin capturing neutral port.
– Load northern Infantry into APC and move APC 3S 1E and drop Infantry E.
– Move Anti-Air as far south along road as possible.

Day 5:

– Finish capturing neutral airport and port.
– Move western Infantry 1W and begin capturing neutral city.
– Move eastern Infantry 2S 1E and begin capturing neutral city.
– Surround eastern Infantry with APC from north and east.
– Move Anti-Air 3S 2E.
– Build Md. Tank in S base.

Day 6:

– Finish capturing neutral cities.
– Attack easternmost enemy unit with Md. Tank, priority to Tank, Anti-Air, then Infantry in that order.
– If enemy unit is unavailable, then move Md. Tank 1N 4E.
– Attack enemy capturing Infantry with Anti-Air from the west.
– Load northern Infantry into northern APC.
– Load southern Infantry into southern APC.
– Build Tank from S base.

Day 7:

– Attack enemy unit adjacent to Md. Tank.
– Destroy wounded Infantry with wounded Anti-Air.
– Attack enemy Anti-Air if possible with Tank, else move Tank 1N 5E and attack enemy unit.
– Move APCs as far east as possible.
– Build Tank in S base.
– Build B-copter in airport.

At this point, the battle is one-sided. Follow these guidelines for all their worth.

Be aware of Eagle’s CO meter. Try to coerce him into using Lightning Drive instead of Lightning Strike. It’s far easier to finish the map if he never gets to use Lightning Strike.

Aim to destroy 3 units in one day. Odds are that you will acheive this just by forcing your way to his HQ.

Continue building Tanks and B-copters. If you only have enough funds for one unit, Tanks have the higher priority.

Be aware of the northern island. Sometimes, enemy Rockets may be able to attack your army with potshots. Other times, an enemy Md. Tank just might crash your party.

Be aware of the enemy Missile unit. Losing a B-copter to the Missile makes it slightly more difficult to maintain perfect technique.

Move all units as far east as possible each day, destroying any enemy unit in the way. A Tank or the Md. Tank should be leading the line.

Prevent destruction of eastern APC for ease of completion, though the western APC present in case the eastern APC is destroyed.
