Introduction

The War Room features 30 high score challenge maps where maps unlocked can be played in any order.

Game Rules

There are two modes for the War Room: Style 1 and Style 2. Each has different effects on the game. All War Room maps are played with a standard set of game conditions. Each mode records their own set of high scores.

Modes:

  • Style 1: Commanding Officers have their abilities from Advance Wars. Super CO Powers, Neotanks and Missile Silos cannot be used. You obtain your points total in coins when you win.
  • Style 2: Commanding Officers have their abilities from Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. Super CO Powers, Neotanks and Missile Silos can be used. You obtain your points total in coins when you win.

Game Rules:

  • Funding: 1000 G per property
  • Weather: Clear, No Random
  • Fog of War: Off
  • Capture Limit: Off
  • Turn Limit: Off
  • CO Abilities: On

Scoring

Map scores are out of a total of 300 points. This is sub-divided into three categories: Speed, Power and Technique worth 100 points each. If the calculated score for a category is not perfectly an integer value, it will be rounded (see Calculations for how to calculate the values) – this means that for maps with long speed limits (34+ days) you actually have an extra day to achieve 100 speed.

Scoring:

  • Speed: How many days the map was cleared in. Each map has a target time. Complete the map in the number of days or less to get 100 points.
  • Power: How many units the player destroyed in one turn compared to the total amount of enemy units built. Destroy 10%, rounded up, of the total enemy units in one turn to get 100 points.
  • Technique: How many units the player has lost in total compared to the total amount of units the player built. Lose less than 20%, rounded down, of the player’s units to get 100 points.

  • 300 – 280 Points
  • 279 – 240 Points
  • 239 – 200 Points
  • 199 – 150 Points
  • 149 – 000 Points

Score Calculations:

  • Speed: 100 – 100 x (days cleared in – speed limit)/(3 x speed limit)
  • Power: 1000 x (Units destroyed in one turn / Enemy Units Built)
  • Technique: 120 – (100 x units lost / units built)
