Overview: Despite my reluctance to provide D2D walkthroughs for
Advance Wars: Dual Strike, given a small timeframe, they do exist. This is
a D2D walkthrough to capture Sonja’s HQ in 11 days. Any sooner and you will
meet too much resistance in capturing her HQ. Use indirect units and
superior funding to rout Lash. Kanbei needs a different strategy because
his increased unit deployment will not allow for the following walkthrough.

Max’s indirect range penalty can still use the build order mentioned in this
strategy, but he needs to rearrange his Artillery in order to break the pipe
seam and minicannon in due time. I won’t provide the change in strategy; I
trust you can figure it out on your own. For starters, the build order is
the same.

Day 1:

– Build two Infantry.

Day 2:

– Capture neutral city and base with Infantry.
– Build two Artillery.

Day 3:

– Finish capturing neutral properties
– Move western Artillery 1N 1W.
– Move eastern Artillery 1N 2W.
– Build APC in western base.
– Build Infantry in eastern base.

Day 4:

– Begin attacking pipe seam and minicannon with Artillery.
– Load APC with eastern Infantry and move APC 2N 1W.
– Move southern Infantry 1S 1W.
– Move Infantry 2S 1E.
– Build Black Boat.
– Build Infantry in eastern base.

Day 5:

– Continue attacking pipe seam and minicannon with Artillery. DO NOT
DESTROY THE MINICANNON.
– Move eastern Infantry 3E.
– Move Black Boat 2W and load Black Boat with two Infantry.
– Build Tank in western base.

Day 6:

– Destroy pipe seam with eastern Artillery.
– Move western Artillery 1W.
– Move Tank 1N 3W.
– Build Tank in western base.
– Move Black Boat 5E and drop Infantry north and east.

Day 7:

– Move eastern Artillery 1W.
– Move eastern Tank 1N.
– Begin capturing neutral base with Infantry.
– Move eastern Infantry 3E.
– Move Black Boat 1S 6E.
– Build Infantry in eastern base.
– Build Recon in western base.

Day 8:

– Save here. Some luck is involved here.
– Finish capturing neutral base.
– Begin capturing easternmost neutral base with Infantry.
– Move eastern base Infantry 3E and join with wounded Infantry.
– Destroy minicannon with eastern Artillery.
– Attack enemy unit with remaining Artillery.
– Enemy unit MUST be destroyed by eastern Tank.
– Move Recon 1N 5W, blocking Sonja’s eastern base.
– Move remaining Tank 4W, blocking Sonja’s western base.
– Move APC 1S 5W and drop Infantry north onto the HQ.
– Build Infantry in eastern base.
– Build Recon in western base.

Day 9:

– Begin capturing Sonja’s HQ.
– Finish capturing neutral base.
– Destroy enemy Mech with eastern Artillery.
– Join healthy Recon with wounded Recon.
– Move eastern base Infantry 3E and join with wounded Infantry.
– Move western Tank 1S 1E and attack enemy unit from the west.
– Move APC 1W.
– Move Artillery 5W.
– Build Infantry on eastern base.
– Build remaining units at your discretion.

Day 10:

– Delay capture of Sonja’s HQ. This allows Sonja to finish capturing a
neutral property.
– Move units at your own discretion. Again, keep the capturing Infantry
protected.
– Move eastern base Infantry 3E and join with wounded Infantry.
– Build Infantry on eastern base.
– Build units at your discretion.

Day 11:

– Capture Sonja’s HQ.

As mentioned earlier, utilize the southern bases to build indirect units and
rain destruction upon Lash’s units.

Continue building Infantry in the eastern base until you feel the time is
right. This is up to you, but I prefer having at least one Neotank and two
Tanks before rushing Lash.

Build one Piperunner in one of the southern bases. It helps a lot.
