Overview: This map is an extended HQ capture. A loaded APC drops the Infantry onto the HQ on day 4, but a Grit Tank will prevent a clean capture. You must constantly join the wounded Infantry with a steady stream of healthy Infantry delivered by APCs. You cannot lose any more than three units, and those three units must be three sacrificial APCs to Grit’s Artillery and Rockets. This means you cannot lose any units at all. Whenever Grit’s movement is favorable, you must save. Since you only need to destroy two units, the power score is thankfully easy to obtain.

Kanbei cannot follow this walkthrough. Unless you want a challenge, avoid him at all costs.

Day 1:

  • Build Infantry in NW and W base.
  • Build APC in E base.

Day 2:

  • Move northern Infantry 3E.
  • Load Infantry into APC, move APC 3E 2N, and drop Infantry north.
  • Build Infantry in NW and W base.
  • Build APC in E base.

Day 3:

  • Save here.
  • Move northeastern Infantry 1E 1N and begin capturing Grit’s city.
  • Load eastern Infantry into eastern APC and move APC 3N 2E.
  • Move northern Infantry 3E.
  • Load remaining Infantry into APC, move APC 3E 2N, and drop Infantry north.
  • Build Infantry in NW and W base.
  • Build APC in E base.

Grit Day 3:

  • Grit must attack your loaded APC with his Rockets. It is highly recommended that it has 3 HP left.
  • Grit must arrange his Infantry that allows your APC access to Grit’s HQ and the open base.
  • Grit must NOT attack your APC with one of his Infantry. This usually does not happen if the APC has 3 HP.
  • Most of the time, the unoccupied base is the north one. If this happens, a lot of restarting is needed. If the unoccupied base is the west one, it is a bit easier because you can use a nearby capturing Infantry to distract the Artillery. This guide will assume the unoccupied base is the northern one.

Day 4:

  • If Grit has done the above, save here.
  • Move APC onto unoccupied base and drop Infantry onto HQ.
  • Move northeastern Infantry 3E and begin capturing Grit’s city.
  • Move northeastern Infantry 1E 1N and begin capturing Grit’s city.
  • Load APC with middle Infantry, move APC 3N 2E, and drop Infantry east.
  • Move northern Infantry 3E.
  • Load remaining Infantry into APC, move APC 3E 2N, and drop Infantry north.
  • Build Infantry in NW and W base.
  • Build APC in E base.

Grit Day 4:

  • Grit must destroy your middle APC with his Artillery and Rockets.
  • Grit must not attack any of your units with his Infantry.
  • Grit will attack your Infantry with his Tank. This is supposed to happen.
  • On that note, it is recommended he leaves your Infantry with 7 HP.

Day 5:

  • If Grit has done the above, save here.
  • Begin capturing Grit’s HQ.
  • Finish capturing Grit’s properties.
  • Move northeastern-most Infantry 3N.
  • Move northeastern Infantry 2N 1E.
  • Load APC with middle Infantry, move Infantry 3N 2E, and drop Infantry east.
  • Move northern Infantry 3E.
  • Load remaining Infantry into APC, move APC 3E 2N, and drop Infantry north.
  • Build Recon in E base.
  • Build Infantry in all other bases.

Grit Day 5:

  • Grit must destroy your middle APC with his Artillery and Rockets.

Day 6:

  • If Grit has done the above, save here.
  • Continue capturing Grit’s HQ.
  • Join wounded Infantry on Grit’s HQ with healthy Infantry.
  • Move northeastern-most Infantry 3N.
  • Load APC with middle Infantry, move APC 3N 2E, and drop Infantry east.
  • Retreat all Infantry within range of Grit’s Artillery and Rockets.
  • Move all Infantry on bases 3N.
  • Attack any Grit Infantry with Recon.
  • Build Recon in E base.
  • Build Infantry in all other bases.

Grit Day 6:

  • Grit must destroy your middle APC with his Artillery and Rockets.

Day 7:

  • If Grit has done the above, save here.
  • Continue capturing Grit’s HQ.
  • Join wounded Infantry on Grit’s HQ with healthy Infantry.
  • If you can destroy two units this turn, do so.
  • Retreat ALL units within range of Grit’s Artillery and Rockets.
  • Remaining unit movement is at your discretion.
  • Build Infantry in all bases.

Grit Day 7:

  • Grit must not destroy any units.

Day 8:

  • If you have not destroyed two units by now, do it.
  • Build Infantry in all bases. Congratulations, you managed the technique score by the skin of your teeth (28 units built total, the minimum needed for 3 units lost).
  • Finish capturing Grit’s HQ.
